Aims
The music department at Oaklands aims to enable students to develop an understanding and appreciation of sound through practical music making which is challenging, exciting and enjoyable.

The department aims to create an environment which enables students to work effectively, confidently, safely and responsibly.

Instrumental Lessons
Instrumental teachers attend once a week providing a wide range of expertise

Resources
The music department contains three practise rooms and one main teaching room. There is a wide range of percussion instruments, ICT, keyboards and other electronic equipment.

Extra-Curricular Activities
The music rooms and facilities are open to all students 3 days a week after school. Students can continue their music making, explore their own interests and prepare for assemblies or concerts.
