Information Communication Technology and Computer Science are the fastest growing, sustainable sectors of the economy. ICT and Computer Science give an important insight into the practical applications of computer skills, with great emphasis placed on practical demonstration of theoretical work done. At Key Stage 3, Computer Science is split into two main areas: practical and theory elements. In each year, there is an increasing level of complexity and in-depth computing skills.

At Key Stage 4, ICT offers the opportunity to gain an understanding of the way in which computers work and to create and review computer programs for real-life purposes.  It encourages students to design games, applications and systems. The course involves an element of controlled assessment as well as two written exams.
